We believe in the simple things. Eat well, drink well and feel well. We do this by creating an environment where people feel happy by enjoying good wholesome food and drink. Our cafe is for everyone and anybody to enjoy. We pride ourselves in using high-quality produce across our dishes, which change with the seasons. Finally, The Nest is more than just a place to indulge in good food and drink, we showcase events from outdoor festivals to a cinema club and also have a resident DJ twice a month. Situated in the Market Hall in the heart of Shrewsbury, we are proud to be a part of the local community, where we strive to support local and independent businesses.

The Bird’s Nest was first set up by two Birmingham-born foodies, who simply enjoyed good food and coffee. Close school friends, Aaron Brown and Victor Deng, both worked their way up through the pot-washing and prep stations of Birmingham restaurants before dabbling in the festival scene, where they offered ingenious vegetarian food to the masses. For years they stayed behind the scenes, until they decided to take a chance in the town of Shrewsbury to open up their first independent coffee shop together.
Since the beginning of 2015, Aaron Brown has been the sole owner of The Bird’s Nest. His passion remains strong and the cafe has continued to grow year by year. With a love of the outdoors, Aaron is a dedicated surfer and avid skier. Playing a small part in people's daily life is an important drive to him. "My lifestyle is about finding positives and staying high in spirit. I try and have a youthful attitude, which I think draws like-minded people to the cafe. I'm truly blessed to have such a fantastic team around me, who understand what it takes to create a great environment."
"In the very early days, I remember one day getting the train back home with £18.00 takings. The train fare had cost me £14.50! Hahahaha... I'll be honest, it was harder than I expected. But year after year Shrewsbury folk have supported us and we are truly grateful. It really has been, and still is, such an incredible journey...
